What Are Gymnastics Evaluations?
What Parents Should Expect 📋

As your child continues their gymnastics journey, you may hear about evaluations and wonder what they are and how they work.

At Gravity Gymnastics in Miramar, evaluations are an important part of helping each child grow, progress, and build confidence in their skills. These assessments allow our coaching team to track development and ensure each student is placed in the right level for their continued success.

If your child is enrolled in gymnastics classes in Miramar, understanding evaluations can help you feel more confident and informed about their progress.

When Do Evaluations Take Place? 🤸

Evaluations take place periodically throughout the year and are completed during your child’s regular class time.  At Gravity Gymnastics, we conduct evaluations 2–3 times per year, usually in the summer and fall months, to monitor your child’s progress, understand their current skill level, and ensure they are placed in the class that best supports their continued growth and advancement.

Because of this, it is important that your child attends their class so our coaches can properly assess their progress.

No additional action is needed from parents — everything is handled within the class environment.

What Are Gymnastics Evaluations? 🎯

Gymnastics evaluations are a time when coaches observe each child’s development across all events.

During evaluations, coaches look at:

• Strength and body control
• Skill execution and technique
• Coordination and balance
• Overall progress within their current level

These evaluations are not about pressure or perfection. Instead, they are designed to support each child’s individual growth and ensure they are building strong foundations.

At Gravity Gymnastics in Miramar, we focus on helping each child progress with confidence and purpose.

Why Do We Evaluate? 🏆

At Gravity, we follow a progressive skill level system, meaning we meet each child where they are and guide them forward step by step.

Evaluations help ensure that every gymnast is:

• Being challenged appropriately
• Supported in their development
• Progressing at the right pace

These assessments also help our coaches determine when a child may be ready to move up to the next level or begin working on more advanced skills.

This structured approach is what allows students in our kids gymnastics classes in Miramar to build confidence while developing strong, safe technique.

What Happens After Evaluations? 👀

After evaluations are complete, our coaching team reviews each student’s progress.

Some students may:

• Move up to the next level
• Continue in their current class to strengthen foundational skills
• Be encouraged to take on new challenges within their level

Every child progresses differently, and our goal is always to support their development in a way that builds confidence and long-term success.

Supporting Your Child’s Progress 💫

At Gravity Gymnastics in Miramar, we believe progress is about more than just moving up levels.

It’s about helping children:

• Build confidence
• Develop strong foundational skills
• Learn discipline and consistency
• Enjoy the process of learning and growing

Evaluations are simply one step in that journey.  If you’re ready to begin your child’s gymnastics journey or explore our programs, click here to learn more and find the class that’s the perfect fit.
