Your Child's Safety is Our Highest Priority

Our Commitment to Safety

At Gravity Gymnastics, safety is one of the most important values behind everything we do. It guides how we train our staff, structure our classes, organize our equipment, and support each child's experience in the gym.

Our goal is to create an environment where students can learn, grow, build confidence, and have fun- all within a setting intentionally designed with safety in mind.

We believe the strongest safety approach combines trained coaches, clear procedures, well-maintained equipment, age-appropriate instruction, and partnership with families. Thank you for working with us to create a positive and safe experience for every child.

Parent Reminders

A great gymnastics experience starts with teamwork! These simple reminders help us provide a fun, safe, and positive environment where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

  • Dress Code & Belongings

    • Students participate barefoot unless otherwise instructed
    • Wear athletic, fitted clothing that allows free movement
    • Avoid loose clothing that may interfere with activity
    • Long hair must be tied back securely
    • Remove jewlery, watches, or accessories before class
    • Parent & Child classes:  parent or guardian must wear socks while on the gym floor.
    • Please bring a sealed water bottle (no open drinks or straws)
    • Please leave any valuables or personal items at home.
  • If Your Child is Sick

Please keep your child home if they are sick, coughing, experiencing fever, vomiting, or showing any contagious symptoms.

This helps protect all children, families, and staff.

  • Preschool Parent Guidelines

    • Parents or guardians must remain in the lobby nearest their child's classroom during class time
    • Children may require restroom help, emotional reassurance, or support during class

    For Parent & Child classes:

    • Please refrain from using cell phones during class time.
    • Only the enrolled child may participate.
  • Listening & Following Directions

Our coaches consistently review how to use equipment safely, where to wait, when to take turns, and how to move through activities safely.

Please encourage your child to listen to their coach, stay with the group, and follow directions at all times.

  • Pick Up & Dismissal

    •  Children must be picked up promptly at the end of their scheduled class time.
    • Our lobby can become very busy, and we are not equipped to supervise children after class has ended.
    • Timely pick-up helps maintain safety and proper supervision.

Safety Policies & Procedures

Safety isn't just a policy—it's part of everything we do. From coach training and equipment inspections to emergency procedures and skill progressions, our standards are designed to help every gymnast participate with confidence.

  • Coach Training and Certification

AAll Gravity coaches complete USA Gymnastics Safety Certification, including safety training, SafeSport® training, and a background screening. In addition, our coaching team meets weekly to review curriculum updates, practice spotting techniques, discuss skill progressions, and reinforce safety procedures. We believe ongoing education is essential to providing every gymnast with a safe, consistent, and high-quality learning experience.

  • Equipment Safety

A safe environment begins with well-maintained equipment. Gravity uses specialized gymnastics equipment, soft safety mats, and developmental training aids to support safe skill progression for gymnasts of all ages. Our team regularly inspects all equipment and matting for cleanliness, stability, and any maintenance needs, ensuring that every class takes place in a safe, well-prepared environment.

  • Spotting and Skill Progressions

At Gravity, every new skill is taught through a carefully planned progression designed to build confidence, technique, and safety. Rather than rushing to the next milestone, we break each skill into manageable steps, allowing gymnasts to develop the strength, body awareness, and proper technique needed for long-term success.

Our coaches receive ongoing training in spotting techniques and skill progressions through dedicated staff meetings focused specifically on safe instruction and athlete development. In addition to our weekly curriculum meetings, we hold specialized training sessions where coaches practice spotting methods, review skill breakdowns, and collaborate on the safest and most effective ways to teach each progression.

By combining proven progressions with proper spotting and continuous coach education, we help every gymnast learn new skills with confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

  • First Aid and CPR

All Gravity coaches and staff are certified in First Aid and CPR and participate in ongoing safety training throughout the year. Our team regularly reviews emergency procedures, injury prevention, and gym safety protocols to ensure we are prepared to respond quickly and appropriately. Your child's safety is at the heart of everything we do.

  • Concussion Protocols

As part of our overall safety approach, we maintain specific procedures for recognizing and responding to potential concussions.

A concussion is a type of head injury that can occur after a bump, fall collision, or sudden movement of the head or body. While uncommon, concussions are not unique to gymnastics.

At Gravity Gymnastics, our approach centers on prevention, early recognition, appropriate response, and clear communication with families.

    How We Help Reduce Risk:

    - age appropriate instruction and progressions

    - Proper equipment setup and matting

    - Coach supervision and spotting

    - Organized class flow

    - Ongoing staff training

If a concussion is suspected, activity will stop immediately. The child will be monitored and the parent contacted promptly. We may recommend a medical evaluation. The child should return only when symptoms have resolved and medical clearance has been provided.
